1. Introduction

PainSignal is an AI-powered market research and SaaS idea discovery platform operated by Pain Signal. The service helps users search market signals, analyze complaints, review public discussions and product launches, generate SaaS ideas, create reports, track opportunities, save ideas, export PDFs, and manage subscriptions.

By using PainSignal, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that is needed to provide, secure, improve, and bill for the service. This may include:

  • Account data, such as name, email address, password hash, OAuth account identifiers, avatar URL, and email verification status.
  • Billing and subscription data handled through Stripe, such as plan, subscription status, customer identifiers, billing period, and payment status. PainSignal does not store full card numbers.
  • Usage data, such as searches, generated ideas, saved ideas, Deep Opportunity Reports, Competitor Gap Searches, Opportunity Radar scans, Idea Validation Scorecards, PDF exports, and usage limit counters.
  • User-provided content, such as keywords, descriptions, market context, manual complaints, idea inputs, notes, and feedback messages.
  • Technical data, such as IP address, browser and device information, logs, authentication/session data, cookies, local storage values, request metadata, and error events.
  • Support and feedback data, including messages you send to us and any contact details you provide.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve PainSignal.
  • Authenticate users and protect accounts.
  • Process market searches, complaints, signals, reports, radar scans, scorecards, and exports.
  • Personalize and organize the user experience.
  • Enforce plan features, subscription status, and usage limits.
  • Process subscriptions and billing through Stripe.
  • Improve product quality, source matching, analysis quality, reliability, and security.
  • Prevent abuse, fraud, scraping, limit bypassing, and misuse of the service.
  • Send transactional emails, including password reset, account, billing, and service-related messages.
  • Respond to feedback, support requests, and legal or safety issues.

4. AI Processing

PainSignal uses automated analysis and AI systems to process user inputs and market signals and to generate outputs such as ideas, reports, summaries, validation scorecards, and recommendations. Third-party AI or model providers may process submitted data as subprocessors when needed to provide the service.

You should not submit highly sensitive personal data, confidential third-party data, regulated data, or information you are not allowed to process unless it is necessary and you have the legal right to do so. AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable for your specific use case, and you are responsible for reviewing and validating them.

5. Public Source Data

PainSignal may collect, retrieve, or analyze publicly available or third-party source data from supported sources, including Reddit, Product Hunt, GitHub Issues, App Store, Google Play, Hacker News, Stack Exchange, Trustpilot, YC Signals, OPUS Search or broad web search, and manual imports provided by users.

PainSignal does not claim ownership of third-party source content. Users are responsible for how they interpret, export, share, or use generated insights and for respecting third-party rights and applicable platform terms.

6. Payments

Payments, card details, invoices, and subscription billing are processed by Stripe. PainSignal receives and stores only the billing metadata needed to manage subscriptions, plan access, and usage limits. Stripe may process your information under its own privacy terms.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

PainSignal uses cookies and local storage for authentication, session routing, security, product functionality, preferences, and similar operational purposes. We may also use analytics or logging tools to understand usage and improve reliability. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect service functionality.

8. Data Sharing

We may share information with service providers and third parties when reasonably necessary to operate, secure, bill for, or improve PainSignal, including:

  • Hosting, infrastructure, database, and storage providers.
